I should add that on a recent trip to Portsmouth, NH, I ran into an historic home built in 1763 It belonged to a man named William Whipple who lived in it. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and according to legend, came home from the signing, planted a chestnut tree (which is still standing) and later became a Brigadier General in the Revolutionary Army. More history here

Oh, and he married his cousin.

Missing kids

My kids stayed with the G-Parents for three weeks. I really didn't miss them since Brooke and I were having fun. This picture is what flipped the switch for me. I officially started missing the littles when I got this.

Stayed at the La Quinta in New Haven, CT. What a dump. I took the survey to tell them so and they gleaned from that a factoid I didn't share. They passed the Comfort test. Nope.

When you are in Maine, you get Lobster rolls everywhere. The normal one at a restaurant runs about $21+, so $9 is a deal.
